With a view to get appropriate share in the economic benefit from industrial development and to eradicate unemployment of local persons, the State Government has adopted the policy of preferential treatment to local person since 1968. For effective implementation of this policy, the State Govt. has declared revised procedure vide G.R.No.ELP/2008/C.N.93/Ind-6,dated 17.11.2008.
As per this revised procedure:
For effective implementation and monitoring of the said policy, the district level committee under the Chairmanship of Collector and State level Committee under the Chairmanship of Development Commissioner (Inds.) have been constituted. As per this revised procedure, the District level Committee is expected to review status of employment to local persons in every industrial enterprise, and to discuss the difficulty of the enterprise which may be unable to provide employment to local persons as per the policy and suggest ways and means for overcoming the same. If required, the District Committee is empowered to recommend to vocational education training institute about specific skill development. The state level committee is expected to discuss and decide on suggestions received from District Committee and to develop a plan of action for maximizing employment to local persons.
