Development Commissioner's Message

Maharashtra is one of the most industrialized state in India. We have best infrastructure in place, ample availability of skilled persons and with best incentives policy with returns on investments, makes Maharashtra a very attractive destination for any type of industries. Our state contributes about 15% of GDP of the country. The Directorate of Industries (DoI), headed by Development Commissioner(Industries), is an executive arm of the Industries Department which overlooks the development of industries in the state and the state level promotional corporations. It is supported by 8 Regional Offices headed by joint directors and 36 District Industries Centres (DIC) headed by general managers.

With a very progressive leadership under Honourable Chief Minister Shri. Eknath Shinde, Maharashtra is looking forward to be a first trillion dollar economy in the country and to fulfil this vision. Apart from infrastructure, we have brought many reforms in “Ease of Doing Business” and set up MAITRI.

Government of Maharashtra has developed MAITRI (Maharashtra Industry, Trade & Investment Facilitation Cell) Portal for investors in Maharashtra, which is one-stop-shop for existing and prospective investors to get consolidated information about the investment process. With regards to expanding their existing manufacturing units or to set up a new manufacturing unit in the State. We have integrated 119 services across 15 departments with MAITRI Portal.

DoI was established to monitor and implement the promotion & development of MSME sector at the State level. One of the prime aims of DoI is to implement the various schemes and incentives for the promotion of industries. Notable among its schemes is the Packages Scheme of Incentives; announced along with the Industrial Policy 2019.

We have come out with sector wise attractive policies, which are made available online on MAITRI portal. For any kind of queries, please email me on maitri-mh@gov.in.

“We welcome you to invest in Magnetic Maharashtra”.
